Frequently asked questions

The questions that come up in almost every evaluation, answered properly. If yours is not here, ask us directly and we will add it.

Which CRMs do you support?

HubSpot and Salesforce. Those are the two CRMs Tofu connects to, and between them they cover the systems our customers actually run. Intent data from tools like 6sense arrives through your existing Salesforce connection rather than as a separate integration.

Do I have to connect a CRM?

No, but it is where most of the value is. Without a CRM connection Tofu can still build audiences, generate creative and run campaigns. With it, the agent reads your closed-won and closed-lost deals, pipeline, sales velocity and deal size to build the funnel plan, builds audiences directly from your lists and reports, and shows account journeys from first impression through to closed-won.

What access does Tofu actually need?

Your ad accounts (LinkedIn and Google Ads) and your CRM. In practice, Google Ads access often needs sign-off from your IT team and Salesforce needs your admin to grant permissions, so it is worth starting those requests early. We will send the exact permission set your admin needs.

Can the agent spend money without my approval?

No. Every campaign is staged into your own ad account with the campaign switched off. A person on your team turns it on. The weekly optimization moves the agent recommends, such as pausing an underperformer, scaling a winner or generating new creative, are proposals until someone approves them.

Who owns the ad accounts and the campaigns?

You do. Tofu connects to ad accounts and a CRM you already own and builds inside them. If you stop working with us, every campaign, audience and creative asset stays exactly where it is, in your accounts.

How does attribution work?

Tofu writes dynamic UTM parameters into every ad it builds and passes them back to your CRM, so ad, ad set, campaign and source are all captured without anyone maintaining a naming convention by hand. Account journeys then show, per account, which ads and campaigns they engaged with, when they became an opportunity, and whether they closed won or lost. Attribution defaults to your CRM stages, and if your team defines pipeline differently, for example starting at stage 2, we map to your definition.

Can I run more than one brand?

Yes. Each brand gets its own workspace with its own playbook, messaging and creative guidance, which is how customers with multiple brands and PE-backed portfolios run several companies side by side without their brand systems bleeding into each other.

How do you keep the creative on brand?

Brand guidance comes from your team, not from a scrape of your website, because anything derived purely from a homepage tends to be wildly off. You upload your guidelines, custom fonts, logos, colors and gradients, and you can save approved templates per campaign type. Tofu also analyzes the ads you are already running so new creative matches what your brand actually looks like in market. Every element of a generated ad is a live layer, so you can move, resize, swap or retype anything, or ask the agent to make more variations in the vein of the one you liked.

Are the stock images licensed?

Yes. Tofu holds the licenses for the stock photography it surfaces, so imagery in your ads is cleared for your distribution.

What is the minimum ad spend?

We recommend at least $3,000 to $5,000 per month in media budget. Below that there is not enough signal for the optimization loop to learn from, which is where most of the value sits.

How is Tofu priced?

A flat $2,500 per month. It is not a percentage of ad spend, not usage-based, and not priced per campaign, per seat or per generation. The price is the same whether you run $5,000 a month or $50,000, which is deliberately the opposite of how an agency retainer is structured.

Do you connect to our marketing automation platform?

No. Tofu connects to your CRM and your ad accounts, and nothing else. Marketing automation, your CMS, your sales engagement tool and the rest of your stack stay where they are and are untouched. That is a deliberately small surface area: two systems to connect, two sets of permissions to get approved, and far less to unpick if you change platforms elsewhere.

Which channels are live today?

LinkedIn, Google Search and Google Display are live. On LinkedIn that covers single image, carousel, document, conversation and video ads, plus thought leader ads and lead gen forms. Video is the one format where you bring your own file. Meta and Reddit are not live yet.

How is this different from hiring an agency?

Cost is the obvious part: a flat $2,500 a month sits well under half of most retainers, and it does not scale with your spend. The bigger difference is the cadence. The most common complaint we hear about incumbent agencies is that campaigns get built and then quietly stop being optimized, with little real A/B testing. Tofu runs the optimization loop every week, on every campaign, and shows you what it wants to change and why before it changes anything.
