Can people book a demo straight from a LinkedIn Lead Gen Form?

TofuAnswer by the Tofu team · checked

Yes. In the form's Confirmation section, choose Book an appointment and paste a Calendly or Chili Piper booking link. After someone submits the form, the confirmation screen offers a Book now button that opens your scheduler, where they pick a time. Chili Piper can fill in their form answers and, per its guide, route them to the right rep. Campaign Manager counts the bookings in an Appointments booked column. Setup takes a few minutes once your scheduler is ready. It doesn't work with Message ads or Conversation ads.

As of October 2026.

Before you start

  • A Calendly or Chili Piper account. LinkedIn currently accepts booking links from these two tools only. Chili Piper's integration page calls its own "the only direct booking integration with LinkedIn Lead Gen Forms in the market," but LinkedIn's help names Calendly too. Calendly's LinkedIn help article, which covers Lead Gen Forms, is marked for all plans. Chili Piper's help says to use a Concierge Router link (to qualify and route the lead) or a ChiliCal scheduling link (to book directly). Without either, the form can link to your own landing page instead.
  • A lead generation ad set. Lead Gen Forms attach to ad sets that use the Lead generation objective, and your ad account must be associated with a LinkedIn Page.
  • A Sponsored Content ad. LinkedIn says booking isn't available for Message ads or Conversation ads.
  • The right roles. Creating or editing a form needs a campaign manager or account manager role on the ad account. Downloading leads needs viewer access or higher on the ad account plus Lead Gen Forms manager or higher on the Page.
  • Current rep availability in the scheduler. LinkedIn asks you to set this up before you build the ad set. Reschedules and cancellations are all handled in your scheduling tool, not in LinkedIn.

Step 1: Get your booking link ready

  • Calendly: copy the booking link for the meeting type you want, such as a demo.
  • Chili Piper: in Chili Piper, add Smart Parameters for the LinkedIn fields, then copy your Concierge Router or ChiliCal link. Chili Piper's guide says LinkedIn's booking URL field takes up to 200 characters and that both link types fit.

Per Chili Piper's guide, email, first name and last name pass to Chili Piper for every advertiser. Other fields, such as company name and job title, and custom questions are being turned on by LinkedIn account by account. Chili Piper's integration page says company and job title pass, without mentioning the rollout; the guide is more specific. Chili Piper uses an answer only where you've mapped it to a Smart Parameter. Its guide also advises adding LinkedIn's Work email field with work email validation on, because otherwise LinkedIn can pass the personal email on the member's account.

Step 2: Create a form with Book an appointment

  1. In Campaign Manager, click Content & Assets on the left menu and select Lead generation forms. (You can also build it while setting up a lead generation ad set.)
  2. Click Create form.
  3. Fill in the form details, the lead details (fields and custom questions) and a privacy policy URL, which LinkedIn requires for approval.
  4. In the Confirmation section, write your thank-you message and select Book an appointment.
  5. Paste your link into the booking URL box. LinkedIn's help calls it the Calendly or Chili Piper URL box; Chili Piper's guide calls it Booking URL.
  6. Click Agree & Create.

Adding booking to a form that's already running is harder. On a form attached to a Sponsored Content ad in an active ad set, LinkedIn lets you edit the confirmation message, landing page URL and thank-you call-to-action, but its list doesn't name Book an appointment. Any edit to an active form also goes back to review, and ads using it may stop serving until it's approved. Build a new form, or edit the form while it isn't attached to an active ad set, when every field except the language can be changed.

Step 3: Check what gets filled in

LinkedIn's help says Chili Piper can fill in the submitted form fields during booking. Without field mapping, people can still book, but they have to type their details again. LinkedIn advises that mapped fields match the Lead Gen Form's fields.

For Calendly, the two companies' pages differ. Calendly's integration page says leads' personal information is prefilled. LinkedIn's help describes field mapping only for Chili Piper. Step 4 shows you what your form actually passes.

Step 4: Test the booking flow

  1. Go to Content & Assets, then Lead generation forms, and select the form.
  2. In the Associations column, move your cursor over the number and click the Ad ID.
  3. Click the More icon, select View, then click the call-to-action button in the preview.
  4. Submit the form, click Book now, choose the meeting type, date and time, and click Schedule.

If the form isn't attached to an ad yet, send a test lead from Campaign Manager instead. A test booking is a real meeting on a rep's calendar, so cancel it in your scheduling tool afterward. After a real booking, LinkedIn says the person gets a confirmation at the email address they gave in the form.

Step 5: Track meetings booked

  • In Campaign Manager: on the reporting dashboard, choose the Conversions and Leads column view, or export a report. Appointments booked is "Total number of appointment bookings completed through the linked automated scheduling tool." It sits next to Leads, Lead form opens, Lead form completion rate and Cost per lead. LinkedIn lists no cost-per-appointment column, so divide spend by appointments booked yourself.
  • Start date: LinkedIn's help doesn't say when the metric started or whether older bookings count. Influent, a LinkedIn agency, wrote in its September 14, 2026 recap that booked appointments show in Campaign Manager "as of August 27, with no historical backfill." So don't compare meetings from before late August 2026 with later months.
  • Landing page bookings: LinkedIn's definition counts bookings made through the linked scheduling tool, so don't expect bookings on your own landing page to appear in this column.
  • Through the API: LinkedIn's Marketing API reporting has an appointmentsScheduled metric, "The number of appointments booked through Lead Gen campaigns," from API version 202605 onward. Reporting tools that pull from the API can use it.
  • In your CRM: the lead reaches your CRM through your normal lead sync, and the meeting through your scheduler's own CRM connection. How to send LinkedIn Lead Gen Form leads to HubSpot or Salesforce covers the lead side.

Where Tofu fits

Tofu Ads Agent (our product) builds lead gen forms on LinkedIn as part of the campaigns it creates, and stages those campaigns in your own ad account switched off until a person turns them on. Add Book an appointment to the form in Campaign Manager before you turn the campaigns on. LinkedIn's help doesn't say whether a form on a switched-off ad set counts as attached to an active one, so if the option is locked, build a new form as in Step 2. Tofu doesn't add the booking link, book meetings or route leads to reps; your scheduler and CRM do that. To see whether those leads become pipeline, Tofu's pipeline view follows accounts from first impression through opportunity to closed-won.
