Can I connect Claude or ChatGPT to my Google, Meta and LinkedIn ad accounts?

By The Tofu team ·

Yes for Meta and Google, with limits; LinkedIn has no official MCP server. Use Meta's ads MCP server if you want ChatGPT or Claude to report on, build and edit Meta campaigns: new ads start paused, and you can block actions or cap budgets. Use the Google Ads MCP server if you only need Google Ads reporting: it is read-only and you host it yourself. Use a third-party MCP server such as AdPlug, Porter Metrics, Pipeboard or Markifact if you need LinkedIn Ads, and check how each one approves changes before you turn on write access.

As of October 2026.

If you run Meta ads

Use Meta's ads MCP server. Meta's help page lists ChatGPT, Claude, Claude Code and Perplexity as supported agents, and the remote server URL for all of them is https://mcp.facebook.com/ads. You follow the setup instructions from your AI app, and Meta says any action taken on your behalf needs your authorization through the agent.

What the agent can do, per Meta: pull reporting, create and edit campaigns, ad sets and ads, upload images and videos, create, update and delete custom audiences, manage catalogs, check signal health, and run A/B tests and conversion lift studies. "All ads are paused by default until you set them live." On October 6, 2026, Meta added that agent-staged work now lands as a draft in Ads Manager.

Limits: Meta says "You may not have access to all of these tools and features yet," and its developer blog says access to tools is "gradually rolling out." Meta also offers an ads command line interface (CLI) for developers.

If you need Google Ads reporting

Use the Google Ads MCP server, which Google publishes in its Google Ads API documentation. Google's page says: "This implementation is strictly read-only. It cannot modify bids, pause campaigns, or create new assets." Its tools list the accounts you can access, run Google Ads Query Language (GAQL) searches and describe resource fields.

What you need to run it:

  • A Google Cloud project with Explorer, Basic or Standard API access, plus OAuth credentials. You don't need a developer token for the latest version. On September 10, 2026, Google's developer blog said it is sunsetting developer tokens: API access levels now come from your Cloud project, and tokens sent in API calls are ignored. Google's MCP page gives the sunset date as September 9, 2026.
  • A place to run it. It runs locally (the sample config uses pipx) or on Google Cloud Run. To use it from Claude or ChatGPT, Google's guide has you deploy to Cloud Run and add a custom connector pointing at your URL, using your own OAuth client. A hosted version is in a pilot for allowlisted participants.
  • A passkey. Starting August 5, 2026, and reaching all users over the following weeks, creating a new OAuth refresh token for the Google Ads API requires a passkey. A 7-day security delay may apply before a new passkey works. Existing refresh tokens keep working, and service accounts aren't affected.

If you want an AI to change Google Ads campaigns

The official MCP server won't do it, so you have two routes. You can write code against the Google Ads API (which does support changes), often with an AI coding tool helping. Or you can use a third-party MCP server with write access, such as AdPlug or Pipeboard (both below). Before you connect a third-party tool, read Google's August 31, 2026 developer policy update: Google now requires integrations "to connect directly to Google Ads services using their own dedicated Google Cloud project" and warns about "programmatic proxies." Ask the vendor how it complies.

If you run LinkedIn Ads

We found no official LinkedIn MCP server. Markifact's page states that "as of July 13, 2026, LinkedIn has not published an official MCP server for LinkedIn Ads." If you only need reporting inside ChatGPT, AdPlug, a third-party vendor, says LinkedIn publishes its own LinkedIn Ads app for ChatGPT, in beta, with read-only access to ad set performance, and Porter Metrics also calls it LinkedIn's own app. OpenAI's listing blocked our fetch, so confirm the app inside ChatGPT.

These third-party MCP servers connect to LinkedIn Ads. None is made by LinkedIn:

ToolPlatformsChanges campaigns?Price
AdPlugGoogle, LinkedIn, Microsoft and Reddit Ads (no Meta)Read-only by default; write is a per-platform toggle, and each write shows the API call firstFree (view only, one platform); Pro $29/month (200 edits); Max $89/month
Porter MetricsLinkedIn Ads, with reporting from Meta, Google and 20+ other sourcesYes, after you confirm each change; new campaigns and ads start as draftsFree plan; reporting from $12.50 per account per month billed annually; 1 credit per change
PipeboardMeta, Google, TikTok, LinkedIn, Microsoft, Pinterest, Snap and Reddit Ads (LinkedIn is on its list of available integrations)Yes with permissions; read-only tokens available; LinkedIn creatives start as draftsFree (2 ad accounts); Pro $29.90/month; Premium $99/month
MarkifactLinkedIn AdsYes; writes need your approval and new work stays pausedPro from $79/month; Team from $249/month

If you build your own LinkedIn connection, LinkedIn's Advertising API starts every app in a Development tier. That tier can read all ad accounts you administer but edit only up to 5. Editing more needs the Standard tier, which you request through LinkedIn's Developer Support Portal. LinkedIn's Developer AI Policy also bars using LinkedIn page and member data from its Marketing APIs to train AI or as input to AI features, apart from listed exceptions, so ask any vendor how it follows it.

If you are an agency or are building a product

  • Meta: add the "Create & manage ads with ads MCP server" use case to your Meta app. If you manage data for other businesses, Meta says you "need to submit your app for review" and request Advanced Access on the ads_mcp_management permission. Meta's developer blog post (updated September 22, 2026) says you can now set agent rules in bulk across many ad accounts through the Marketing API.
  • Google: your access level comes from your Google Cloud project. New Basic and Standard applications need brand verification for the project.
  • LinkedIn: apply for the Advertising API, then the Standard tier if you edit more than 5 ad accounts.

If you want AI help without unchecked changes

Start read-only, then widen access. On Meta, anyone with full control of a business portfolio can set rules in Meta Business Suite: go to Settings, select Ads MCP server below Integrations, pick the ad account, then allow or block actions. Meta's examples: switch Create campaigns to Blocked, set Edit or set budget to Blocked, or block Budgets set above this amount at a figure such as $1,000. A partner you share the account with can set its own rules, and they apply only to the partner's employees.

On the third-party tools, keep write access off until you trust the setup, and use their approval steps.

Know who carries the risk. Meta's updated Commercial Terms, effective November 20, 2026, say "AI features may make mistakes" and that you are "solely responsible" for risks from AI features and for "the acts or omissions of any third-party software or service that you use or authorize."

What to avoid

Don't give a general AI assistant write access to every account on day one. A wrong budget or a campaign set live by mistake spends real money before anyone notices. Turn on reporting first, check the agent's answers against Ads Manager or Campaign Manager for a few weeks, then allow changes with budget caps and approvals in place.

Where Tofu fits

Tofu Ads Agent takes a different approach from plugging a general assistant into your accounts. It is an AI agent that plans, builds, launches and optimizes paid programs on LinkedIn, Google and Meta, connected to your own ad accounts, and you use it from Slack, Microsoft Teams or its web app. Campaigns it builds are staged in your own ad account switched off, and a person turns them on. Its weekly bid, budget and creative recommendations stay proposals until you approve them. It costs a flat $2,500 per month.
