How do I email a weekly Meta ads report to my team or client automatically?
Meta Ads Reporting can email a single-account report on a recurring schedule, but only people with permissions on the ad account can open it. Open the report, turn on schedule email (from the link under the report name or the cog icon), add subscribers, click Apply, then Save. You need administrator, advertiser or analyst access. Cross-account reports can't be scheduled. For a client without access, Meta says to export the report and send the file. For one email across several accounts or platforms, use Data Studio with a third-party Meta connector.

Before you start
- Your access. Administrator, advertiser or analyst access to the ad account the report is on. Meta asks for this to schedule a report.
- One ad account per report. Meta says the scheduled email "is for single account reports. Cross-account reports can't be scheduled for email."
- Recipients with access. Meta says "only people with permissions on the ad account can access the report." Plan Step 4 or Step 5 for anyone who doesn't have it.
Step 1: Build the report
Open Ads Reporting from the main menu under Analyze & report. Or open the Export dropdown and, under Export data, select Create custom report. Build the report on one ad account.
For a B2B team, keep the weekly report short: spend, leads, cost per lead and frequency, by campaign. If you can, pick a rolling date range, such as the last 7 days, rather than fixed dates. Meta's article doesn't say how a scheduled email treats the saved date range, so check the first email.
Step 2: Save it
Save the report so it shows under Reports in Ads Reporting. Meta's scheduling steps start there: click Reports, then select and open your report. Give it a name your recipients will recognize, such as the client's name and "weekly."
Step 3: Turn on schedule email
- Go to Ads Reporting and click Reports, then open your saved report.
- Meta says the path depends on your version of Ads Reporting. Use whichever you see:
- Click the link in the top-left corner under the report name. Turn on schedule email, add the subscriber, and click Apply.
- Or click the cog icon in the top-right corner. In report settings, turn on schedule email and click Apply.
- Click Save to confirm.
Meta's article doesn't list the frequency choices, the send day or time, or what the email contains, so check the options on your screen and confirm weekly is one of them.
Step 4: Add your team
Add each colleague as a subscriber. Anyone who isn't on the ad account yet needs access before the report will open for them. Give them the lowest access that lets them view reports, not full control. If your agency is the one sending, the client can share the ad account with you as a partner (see giving an agency access to a Meta ad account).
Step 5: Send it to a client without access
Meta says that to share your reports without giving someone permission to your ad account, you can export the report and send them the file. You do that by hand each time, so it suits a monthly report better than a weekly one.
If the client needs the numbers in their inbox every week and won't get ad account access, Meta's scheduling article describes no way to do that. Use Step 6.
Step 6: Use another tool for one email across accounts or platforms
Meta's cross-account reports can't be scheduled. For one weekly email that covers several ad accounts, or Meta plus LinkedIn and Google, you need a tool outside Ads Manager.
Data Studio (Google's reporting tool, formerly Looker Studio). Google's own connectors don't include Meta, so you add a third-party community connector for the Meta data. Then click Share, then Schedule delivery, set the start date, time and Repeat frequency, and click Schedule. Each email has the report attached as a PDF plus a link to the full report. Limits Google lists:
| Data Studio | Data Studio Pro | |
|---|---|---|
| Schedules per report | 1 | Up to 200 |
| Highest frequency | Once a day | Once an hour |
| Recipients per schedule | Up to 50 | Up to 50 |
| Slack or Google Chat delivery | No | Yes |

Build it yourself. n8n, a workflow automation tool, lists a free template by SPCTEK AI that is set to run every Monday at 8:00 AM. It pulls campaign and ad insights from Meta's Graph API with an ads_read access token, adds charts and a summary written by Google Gemini, turns the report into a PDF with PDFShift and emails it through Gmail. It needs those accounts and someone to maintain it when Meta changes its API.
Common problems
| Problem | Why it happens | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| No schedule email option | It's a cross-account report | Make one saved report per ad account and schedule each |
| A recipient can't open the report | They have no permissions on the ad account | Give them access, or export the report and send the file |
| You can't schedule the report | Your access to the ad account is too low | Ask an admin for administrator, advertiser or analyst access |
| The schedule screen looks different from the steps | Meta's steps depend on your version of Ads Reporting | Use the link under the report name or the cog icon, whichever you see |
| Data Studio won't add a second schedule | Without Pro, a report can have only one schedule | Put everyone on one schedule, or move to Data Studio Pro |
Where Tofu fits
For the weekly email itself, keep Meta's schedule email or one of the tools above. Tofu Ads Agent covers a different question: what the ads did for pipeline. It runs paid programs on Meta (Facebook and Instagram), LinkedIn and Google. Its pipeline view follows accounts from first impression through opportunity to closed-won, and you can ask its analytics agent questions in plain language. Tofu works from Slack or Microsoft Teams as well as the web app. It doesn't change bids, budgets or creative on its own: its weekly recommendations stay proposals until someone approves them.
