What is Meta's Ads Creative Studio, and how is it different from Advantage+ creative?

Ads Creative Studio is a workspace in Meta Ads Manager that shows which of your single image and video ads aren't meeting your minimum performance thresholds, explains why, and generates new images and videos you can save to your Media Library. Advantage+ creative is different: it optimizes an ad into versions your audience is more likely to interact with while it runs. Meta began rolling the studio out to more advertisers on October 6, 2026, after tests this summer, and says it may not be available to you yet. Look for it under All tools in Ads Manager.

Meta's October 6 post calls Ads Creative Studio "the creative workspace we introduced this summer." It doesn't give the date of the first test. Social Media Today reported the same day that Meta had made the tool available to selected ad partners and now wants to expand it to more brands.

How is Ads Creative Studio different from Advantage+ creative?

They do different jobs, and they connect in one place: Meta says the studio makes new assets "using Advantage+ creative image generation and video generation."

Ads Creative StudioAdvantage+ creative
What it isA separate workspace in Ads ManagerA set of enhancements you turn on or off for each ad
What it doesGroups your images and videos into "creative styles," shows which ones fall short and why, suggests ideas and generates new assetsOptimizes your images and videos into versions "your audience is more likely to interact with"
Does it change live ads?Meta doesn't describe it changing ads that are running. You save new assets to your Media Library or share them for approvalYes, for enhancements that are on. Enhancements "may vary depending on who they are shown to"
On by default? No, you open it"Some enhancements may be turned on by default"
FormatsSingle image and single video onlySingle image, single video, carousel, catalog and existing post ads, per Meta's developer docs
VideoGenerates new video concepts and variations you can editGenerates video from your existing static images
Your review stepYou edit assets, save them and can share them with others for approvalYou can turn enhancements off at any time, including in bulk. Meta says advertisers are responsible for previewing AI-generated creative before publishing

So the studio is where you look at results and make new assets. Advantage+ creative is what Meta does to an ad while it runs. If you put a studio asset into an ad with enhancements on, Meta can still adjust it at delivery. To stop that, see how to turn off Meta's AI edits to your ads.

Where do I find Ads Creative Studio?

Meta says that if you're eligible, you can open it in Ads Manager in two ways:

  1. Click All tools on the left, then Ads Creative Studio.
  2. In the Campaign, Ad sets or Ads table, find a performance indicator in the Actions column, such as a creative fatigue warning or a low performance signal. Click it, then See all ideas.

Meta's October 6 post also links to the studio at facebook.com/business/tools/ads-creative-studio, which asks you to log in with Facebook first.

Inside, Improve creatives has three views: Insights (underperforming creatives, why, and what to do), Ideas (new concepts "inspired by seasonal trends, paid trends and top-performing businesses in your industry") and Breakdown (a table comparing creatives across metrics, by creative and by demographic). Scale top creatives is "a leaderboard of your highest-performing active single image or video ads over the past 7 days." On the Saved creatives page you can set a new style for each creative.

You can also see the studio's insights without opening it. Meta says it is bringing creative insights from Ads Creative Studio into Meta AI business assistant, which gives tailored help inside Ads Manager.

Can it show which of my B2B ad creatives are working?

Partly. Read these limits before you trust it:

  • It only covers some ad sets. Meta says the studio "shows creative insights for ad sets that have completed the ranking learning phase" and perform under your minimum performance thresholds. Improve creatives "shows active ad sets, not completed or paused ad sets."
  • Low-volume ad sets give it little to work with. Meta doesn't say how long the ranking learning phase takes or whether it matches the delivery learning phase, which usually ends "after about 50 results in the week after the ad set's last significant edit." Either way, a B2B lead ad set with a few leads a week gives the studio thin data, and it may not show up at all.
  • Scale top creatives ranks by purchase ROAS by default. Meta says "you can change the metric, the number of ads shown and the minimum spend to consider." Change the metric to the result you optimize for.
  • It compares you with your industry. Meta says it compares your creative "against benchmarks you set for your business," along with "broad data from advertisers in your industry."
  • It sees Meta's results, not your pipeline. If your goal is a form fill, a cheap form fill looks like a win even if the lead never buys. Check top creatives against your CRM before you scale them.
  • Carousels are out. Meta says the studio "is only available for single image and video ads at this time."

Who it affects

  • Advertisers in the rollout. Meta's help pages say "this product may not be available to you right now." If All tools doesn't list it, your account likely doesn't have it yet.
  • Teams running single image and video ads. Other formats get no insights or generated assets in the studio.
  • Regulated advertisers. Meta says certain industries, such as financial services and pharma and health, along with certain countries, "may not have immediate access to all generative AI features."
  • Agencies. Tinuiti, an agency Meta quoted in its post, said Meta built the tool to help agencies "test smarter, keep our creative fresh and avoid ad fatigue."
  • Anyone publishing AI-made images. Meta says ad images created or significantly edited with certain of its generative AI features may show AI info in the ad's three-dot menu, or an AI info label on the ad.
  • Advantage+ creative users. The new piece is video generation from your existing static images, now generally available.

What to do now

  1. Check All tools in Ads Manager for Ads Creative Studio.
  2. In Scale top creatives, change the ranking metric from purchase ROAS to your lead or pipeline event, and set a minimum spend so tiny ads don't top the list.
  3. If you use Meta AI business assistant, ask it about your creative. Meta says it now brings in insights from the studio.
  4. Treat generated assets as drafts. Edit them, check claims and brand details, and share them for approval if someone else signs off.
  5. Decide on Advantage+ creative enhancements in each ad's setup, separately from the studio. Some may be on by default.
  6. If your ad sets rarely leave learning, don't wait on the studio. Compare creatives yourself in Ads Manager reporting and against your CRM data.
