Can a B2B company use Meta's Ads Super Burst around a product launch or conference, and how is it booked?

TofuAnswer by the Tofu team · checked

Yes, if your account gets it, but it rarely fits a B2B launch. Meta's Ads Super Burst, announced October 15, 2026, books a 3 to 24 hour window in Reach Planner, with a reach and price estimate, guaranteed delivery and optional category exclusivity. It's built for TV-like scale: test flights reached a median 34 million people. Meta says it's moving to general availability in phases, but doesn't say it's open to all advertisers, or give a minimum budget or country list. For a launch or conference, an auction campaign aimed at your accounts and the event city usually fits better.

As of November 2026.

Who can buy Ads Super Burst?

Meta's post says Super Burst is "a new way for advertisers and agencies to build brand awareness through short, highly concentrated campaigns." It says it "is moving to general availability this month, rolling out in phases." That month is October 2026.

Meta does not say it's open to all advertisers. Compare that with the same post on Reels Trending Ads, where Meta says it "expanded access to Reels Trending Ads to all advertisers" last year. Meta also gives no minimum budget, no country list, no objectives and no placements for Super Burst. Its test results are framed against the US: a median 34 million people per flight, "14% of the US adult audience online in a single day."

Nothing in Meta's post rules out a B2B company. But we found no Meta help article on Super Burst as of November 6, 2026, so check whether your account shows it before you plan around it. If you have a Meta account rep, ask them. Meta hasn't said how access works.

How is Ads Super Burst booked?

From Meta's post:

  1. Plan it in Reach Planner. Pick your dates and get "an estimate of reach and price."
  2. Book a window of 3 to 24 hours to secure the inventory.
  3. Add category exclusivity if you want it. Then "no other advertiser in your category can book the same window."
  4. Delivery is guaranteed against the estimate.

Meta's post doesn't say where Reach Planner sits in Ads Manager or how targeting works. AdExchanger reported on October 15, 2026 that Super Burst is sold "on a first come, first served basis" and that price and approximate reach are agreed up front. It quoted Simon Whitcombe of Meta: "A major cultural moment prices differently from an ordinary Tuesday." It also reported that in the US, brands can reserve category exclusivity on select tentpole dates. So book early for a busy date.

When each option is the right pick

An auction campaign around the event (most B2B launches and conferences)

The default for a B2B launch or a conference. You keep your targeting: customer and account lists, site visitors, lookalikes, or the conference city. You can set start and end dates and run ads only during event hours. See how to schedule Meta ads to certain hours. If your keynote streams to your Facebook Page, a live video ad can run during it; see live video ads for a B2B webinar. What you give up is a guarantee: the auction makes no promise about how many people you reach in a few hours.

A reservation campaign

Pick this when your launch audience in one country is large and you want a fixed cost and controlled frequency over a few days or weeks. Meta's developer docs call reservation "a specialized, advanced option that most advertisers will only use if they want high assurance their ads reach a certain number of Accounts Center accounts." The default limits rule out most narrow B2B lists: an audience of at least 300,000 and reach of at least 200,000. These limits come from Meta's developer docs for reservation campaigns. Meta doesn't mention Super Burst there, so they may not apply to it. A reservation also runs for at least a day by default, so it can't target a few hours the way Super Burst does. Once it's running, you can't pause it. Meta's docs say you can then only swap creatives, change the budget or extend the end date, and a budget or date change may give a new prediction. To stop it, you delete it, and booking again may come at a new CPM.

Ads Super Burst

Pick this only when your buyers are a big slice of everyone online in a country, the moment is a national one, and you have budget for TV-like reach. Think of a product sold to millions of small businesses, launched on the night of a big broadcast event. Meta's own examples are a product launch, "an awards night," and "the first weekend of a new sports season."

A conference doesn't fit that shape. Even a large trade show is a tiny audience next to the median 34 million people Super Burst test flights reached. Meta also hasn't said whether Super Burst lets you narrow targeting to a city or a list. Meta reported the tests' results as brand measures (a median 2.9 point lift in ad recall and 0.6 points in intent), not leads or pipeline.

First Impression Ads

Not something a B2B team can plan for yet. Meta says it is testing the first ad position in Feed in the United States, "with just one brand per day." It gives no price and no way to apply. AdExchanger calls it "still in early alpha testing."
