How do I push a ZoomInfo audience to LinkedIn, Google Ads or Meta?

By The Tofu team ·

In ZoomInfo GTM Studio, connect your LinkedIn or Meta ad account in the Admin Portal, then open an audience and choose Actions, then Activate. LinkedIn can take up to 48 hours to build the audience and needs 300 matched members to run it. Google Ads is different: ZoomInfo documents only website-visitor retargeting audiences built from your Google tag, and Google's Customer Match accepts only customer data you collected first-party, so a bought ZoomInfo list doesn't qualify.

Which ZoomInfo product pushes audiences to ad platforms?

GTM Studio. ZoomInfo's release notes added "Export Audiences to LinkedIn and Meta" to GTM Studio on July 21, 2026: export from the audience view under Actions, then Activate, to any ad account connected through the ZoomInfo Admin Portal, and GTM Studio shows match rates and export status. ZoomInfo's integration pages list "Export Audience" under GTM Studio and link setup guides written for ZoomInfo Marketing (May 2025). The connection steps below follow those guides, so GTM Studio's labels may differ a little.

ZoomInfo's ad audiences page says it "supports audience activation to LinkedIn and Meta, with additional destinations available through connected workflows and integrations," and that audiences can update as CRM records change. It also mentions pushing to Google, but ZoomInfo's Google Ads guide covers only retargeting audiences. ZoomInfo's price list puts "Facebook advertising", "LinkedIn advertising" and "Google Retargeting" in its Marketing ABM Lite and ABM Enterprise plans, not Marketing Demand, with no public prices.

How do I connect ZoomInfo GTM Studio to LinkedIn Campaign Manager?

You need Billing Admin or Account Manager access to the LinkedIn ad account. Without it, ZoomInfo's guide says the account shows up disabled and you can't save it. Then a ZoomInfo admin:

  1. Opens Admin Portal > Integrations > Connections, goes to All Integrations, finds LinkedIn and clicks Connect.
  2. Logs in to LinkedIn and grants access to DeltaX, the partner ZoomInfo's guide says it uses to create LinkedIn audiences and pull campaign stats.
  3. Selects at least one ad account (up to 25) and clicks Save.

Then export the audience (Actions, then Activate). In the May 2025 guide's flow (Actions > Create Campaign > LinkedIn), you can exclude an audience, choose whether LinkedIn matches accounts or leads, pick the ad account and click Sync Audience. The audience appears under Matched Audiences in Campaign Manager, and ZoomInfo re-syncs it every week.

Why is my ZoomInfo audience stuck in "Building" or too small in LinkedIn?

Usually it's still processing, too few people matched, or it was exported as the wrong type.

  • Still processing. LinkedIn says a Matched Audience can take up to 48 hours to build, and in rare cases up to 72. Use it once its status is Ready.
  • Too few matches. LinkedIn needs at least 300 matched member accounts for an audience to run. For company lists, it needs at least 300 rows to upload and recommends 1,000 or more companies. ZoomInfo adds that LinkedIn's API requires at least 300 leads for a contact list. Upload counts are not match counts, so start well above the minimum.
  • Lists over the cap. LinkedIn caps company lists at 300,000 companies (or 20 MB) and contact lists at 300,000 contacts.
  • EEA and Switzerland. LinkedIn says Matched Audience sizes may be limited there.
  • Wrong type. You can't switch an exported audience between accounts and leads. ZoomInfo says to duplicate the audience and export the copy.
  • Weekly refresh skipped. ZoomInfo notes that "exceptions may apply for audiences below the minimum size requirement."

If LinkedIn won't let you create any new audience at all, you may have hit its limit of 1,000 Matched Audience and predictive audience segments. See Why can't I create more matched audiences on LinkedIn?

How do I push a ZoomInfo audience to Google Ads?

You can't send a list of ZoomInfo contacts or companies this way. ZoomInfo's Google Ads guide builds website retargeting audiences from the Google tag on your site, and its July 2026 GTM Studio release covers only LinkedIn and Meta.

What the guide says you need:

  • the Google tag on your website (without it, audiences sync but stay empty)
  • admin access to a Google Ads client account. You can connect only one ad account, and ZoomInfo shows accounts up to two levels down a manager account.

To connect, find Google Ads under Integrations > Connections, click Connect, choose your Google account, pick one ad account and save. Then go to Audiences, click Create New Audience, choose Google Ads Retargeting, set Visit Date and Webpage URL (include a real URL condition, such as your domain with "Contains"), and click Save and Sync Audience. ZoomInfo says Google takes up to 48 hours to process and up to 72 hours to populate the audience, then updates it daily.

Sources disagree on size. ZoomInfo's guide says Google won't serve audiences under 1,000 users on Search or 500 on Display. Google's own help says segments need 100 active users in the last 30 days on Display, Search and YouTube, and Google's rule is the one that applies.

Can I upload a ZoomInfo list to Google Customer Match instead?

Not if you bought the contacts. Google's Customer Match policy says "you may only upload customer information that you collected in the first-party context, such as information you collected from your websites, apps, physical stores, or other situations where customers shared their information directly with you." People on a ZoomInfo prospect list didn't share their details with you, so the list doesn't meet that rule. People in your CRM who gave you their details do.

Your account also needs a good history of policy compliance and payment. To use a list for targeting (not just observation and exclusions), Google requires 90 days of history and more than USD $50,000 in lifetime spend.

How do I push a ZoomInfo audience to Meta?

ZoomInfo's guide lists what you need first: admin status on your company's Facebook account, a Facebook Business Manager account, an ad account in it, and Meta's Custom Audience terms accepted. It also warns that Meta wants a verified business ad account with an established reputation, so it advises companies new to Meta to start advertising there first.

To connect, find Facebook under Integrations > Connections, click Connect, log in, grant access and select up to 25 ad accounts. Then export the audience (Actions, then Activate). The May 2025 guide's flow is Advertising > Campaigns > New Campaign > Facebook, then the audience, the ad account and Sync Audience.

On Meta's side:

  • Meta's developer docs say a customer list may not be processed if the ad account isn't owned by a business portfolio or you haven't accepted the Custom Audience Terms.
  • By accepting the terms, you state that you have "all necessary rights and permissions and a lawful basis" to use the data. Meta's API lets advertisers mark a list as sourced from "partners (such as agencies or data providers)".

What if I don't use ZoomInfo's ad integrations?

Export the records from ZoomInfo and upload them yourself as a company or contact list in LinkedIn, or a customer list in Meta, under the same rules. Or sync ZoomInfo-enriched records into HubSpot or Salesforce and let those lists feed the platforms. LinkedIn says you can create Matched Audiences by "uploading lists, retargeting, or connecting third-party data partners." Where Tofu fits

Tofu Ads Agent doesn't connect to ZoomInfo, and it doesn't build customer lists for Google Ads or Meta. If your ZoomInfo accounts or contacts sit in a HubSpot or Salesforce list or report, Tofu can build LinkedIn matched company and contact audiences from it, or start from an audience ZoomInfo already synced to LinkedIn. It can also target named companies in plain English. Campaigns it builds wait in your own ad account, switched off, until a person turns them on.
