Can I target LinkedIn and Meta ads at accounts surging on ZoomInfo intent topics?

Yes, if your ZoomInfo plan includes intent and the LinkedIn or Meta integration. In GTM One (the new home of GTM Studio audiences), build an audience from the Account Level Intent signal, or filter Advanced Search by intent topic and score, then click Activate and send it to LinkedIn Ads or Meta. Meta takes contact audiences only, so you reach people at surging accounts, who may not be the ones researching. ZoomInfo's GTM One docs list no scheduled export to ad platforms, though its product page says audiences stay synced, so check whether yours re-syncs.

As of November 2026.

Where is ZoomInfo's official answer?

ZoomInfo's help center has an article on this exact task, How to Create an Audience from Intent, updated September 28, 2026 according to ZoomInfo's sitemap. It sits next to "How to Use Self-Serve Intent Topics," "How to use Intent Topic Clusters" and "Overview of In-Market Score in ZoomInfo Marketing and GTM Studio." ZoomInfo's help center needs JavaScript, and the intent article showed us only a loading screen, so AI assistants get an empty page.

This answer uses what ZoomInfo publishes in readable form: its GTM One help articles on gtm.ai (dated November 2, 2026), its release notes, and its product, pricing and integration pages. ZoomInfo is moving customers to GTM One, which folds GTM Studio audiences and GTM Workspace views into one Audiences area. If your company hasn't moved yet, GTM Studio's labels may differ a little. ZoomInfo says to ask your account team about timing.

What do ZoomInfo's intent topics and scores mean?

ZoomInfo describes its intent data this way:

TermWhat ZoomInfo says it means
Topics"5,000+ curated topics," each mapped to a category, department and job function
Signal score"A 60-100 score reflecting how far current research is above the company's historical baseline"
Audience strength"How large the group researching the topic is at that company (A to E)"
Topic clustersSets of intent topics your organization sets up. Advanced Search's High Intent quick filter shows companies researching your default cluster
In-Market ScoreAn audience column added July 21, 2026, with a Funnel Stage filter from Awareness through Evaluation, next to Account Fit Score

ZoomInfo calls the result "a ranked, daily view of accounts." Its signals documentation adds that account-level intent changes are evaluated daily in AI Enterprise and weekly in AI Advanced.

Which intent score is worth spending ad budget on?

ZoomInfo doesn't publish a score cutoff for ads, and we found none. Two things follow from its definitions:

  • The signal score compares a company with its own past, not with other companies. A 90 means research is far above that company's normal level. It doesn't say how many people are doing it. Audience strength tells you that.
  • A topic is only as useful as its fit with what you sell. Use a topic cluster built from your product and competitor topics, not broad category words.

Our suggestion, not ZoomInfo's: build two audiences from the same ICP filters (industry, employee count, region). Put higher scores with strong audience strength in one, for demo and pricing offers. Put every account with a signal on your topics in the other, for awareness content. Exclude customers and open opportunities. Then compare pipeline from each after a few weeks, and move the line based on your own results. ZoomInfo's ad audiences page suggests the same kind of layering, with recipes such as pricing-page visitors at ICP accounts plus open intent.

How do I build an intent audience in GTM One?

There are two ways.

From signals:

  1. In the left navigation, click Audiences, then New Audience.
  2. Under ZoomInfo data, click Signals, then Account Level Intent.
  3. Add filters in the builder, as you would for a company audience.

From Advanced Search:

  1. Click Advanced Search, then Show All Filters.
  2. Under Sales Signals, open Intent. It includes Topic Clusters, Intent Score, Intent Lookback Period, Intent Signal Locations and Person-Level Intent.
  3. Add your ICP filters. When you filter by topic, an Intent Topics column shows which topics each company is researching.
  4. On the Companies or Contacts tab, with no rows selected, click Create Audience. A search can become an audience if it has no more than 200,000 results.

A new audience is private to you until you share it. In GTM Studio before the move, ZoomInfo's July 2026 release notes put LinkedIn and Meta export in the audience view under Actions, then Activate.

How do I send it to LinkedIn or Meta?

A ZoomInfo admin first connects the ad accounts in the ZoomInfo Admin Portal. ZoomInfo's older LinkedIn guide for ZoomInfo Marketing (May 2025) says the person connecting needs Billing Admin or Account Manager access to the LinkedIn ad account. The GTM One docs don't say. Then:

  1. Open the audience and click Activate.
  2. Click Export view to..., then LinkedIn Ads or Meta.
  3. Pick the ad account, choose the rows if asked, and start the export.
  4. Follow it on the Exports tab, which shows the record count, credits used, status and match rate.

What to know on each side:

  • LinkedIn matches company lists on company name, website, email domain, LinkedIn Page URL or stock symbol, and accepts data from third-party API partners. It can take up to 48 hours (rarely longer) to build the audience. A company list audience expires if it isn't used in an active or draft ad set within 90 days.
  • Meta supports contact audiences only. A company audience shows "Company audiences aren't supported for Meta export. Create a contact audience instead." Meta matches people on identifiers such as email, phone and name, not companies. Its API lets advertisers mark a list as sourced from "partners (such as agencies or data providers)," and creating one can fail with a "Custom Audience Terms Not Accepted" error until your business accepts those terms.
  • Credits. Ad platform exports use ZoomInfo credits. ZoomInfo says you aren't charged for records you already own or already sent to the same ad account.

If the export fails with "Your LinkedIn Ads connection has expired" or "Your Meta connection has expired," retrying won't help. An admin has to reconnect the platform.

How often does the audience update on LinkedIn and Meta?

ZoomInfo's own pages don't agree, so check yours.

  • GTM One audiences can refresh daily, weekly or monthly. The one-click default refreshes every Monday. But the scheduled export destinations ZoomInfo lists are CRMs, sales engagement tools, files and data warehouses. LinkedIn Ads and Meta aren't on that list, and ZoomInfo's activation guide calls an export from Activate, where the ad platforms sit, a "one-time export."
  • ZoomInfo's older LinkedIn guide for ZoomInfo Marketing (May 2025) says audiences shared to LinkedIn re-sync every week.
  • ZoomInfo's ad audiences page says it can "keep them synced automatically" and keep audiences up to date "as CRM records change."

Intent moves fast. ZoomInfo's own release note pitches acting on intent "the same day it appears." If your audience doesn't re-sync, re-export it after each refresh. Or schedule the refreshed audience to Salesforce or HubSpot and sync that list or report to a LinkedIn matched audience.

What does it cost?

ZoomInfo doesn't publish prices. Its pricing page lists 25 intent topics in Marketing Demand, 100 in ABM Lite and unlimited in ABM Enterprise (all "Custom & Streaming"), and "Buyer Intent signals and clusters" in Copilot Advanced. "LinkedIn advertising" and "Facebook advertising" are listed in ABM Lite, and ABM Enterprise includes all ABM Lite features. Streaming Intent is an add-on, priced on "the volume of keywords and account universe" you want to track. Ad exports also use credits.

Where Tofu fits

Tofu Ads Agent doesn't connect to ZoomInfo or read its intent scores, and it doesn't build customer lists for Meta. If you send your surging accounts to HubSpot or Salesforce, Tofu can build a LinkedIn matched company or contact audience from that list or report. It can also start from an audience ZoomInfo already sent to LinkedIn, or target named companies in plain English. Campaigns it builds wait in your own ad account, switched off, until a person turns them on.
