Can Meta AI analyze my ad campaigns and build reports in Google Sheets or Slides, and should a B2B team connect it?

Yes, with limits. On August 19, 2026, Meta started rolling out Meta AI features that review your ad performance and work with Google Workspace (Gmail, Docs, Sheets and Slides), on meta.ai and the Meta AI apps, free to start. Use it if you want a quick read on your Meta results turned into a draft sheet or deck. Use Ads Manager if you need changes: Meta says to create, edit or publish ads there. Hold off on a work Gmail or Drive until your Google admin agrees, since Meta's help pages don't say how long it keeps that content.
As of November 2026.
Quick answer by situation
| If you… | Use | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Want to know which Meta audiences, ads and budgets are working | Meta AI, connected to your ad account | It reviews ad performance and explains what's working. Free to start |
| Want that analysis as a sheet, doc or deck | Meta AI with Google Workspace connected | Meta says it turns findings into documents, spreadsheets and slides |
| Need to change budgets, ads or targeting | Ads Manager or Meta Business Suite | Meta says to create, edit or publish ads there |
| Need Meta results next to LinkedIn, Google Ads or your CRM | An AI assistant connected through Meta's ads AI connectors, plus your other tools | Meta AI's documented connections are Meta's apps and Google Workspace |
| Want the same Meta report every week | Ads Reporting's scheduled email | It reaches teammates with ad account access. Meta's example of a Meta AI recurring task is a report sent to you |
| Keep client or customer data in your Gmail and Drive | Don't connect that account yet | Meta's help pages don't cover retention or training for connected content |
If you want to know what's working in your Meta ads
Meta AI can now read your ad results and explain them. Meta's August 19 announcement says it reviews your ads data and shows "which audiences are delivering," "which ad creative is no longer resonating and why" and "where your budget could work harder." Meta's help page adds that it can compare your content and ad performance with "publicly available information about similar businesses" and can "guide you to get started with ads within your budget."
To connect it:
- Make sure your Meta AI profile is in the same Accounts Center as the Facebook or Instagram profile that manages your business assets. Meta AI works only with assets managed by profiles in that Accounts Center.
- Ask a question about your business in meta.ai, the Meta AI mobile app or the desktop app. Meta AI asks for permission before it works with your business assets.
- Name the ad account or other asset you want it to use.
Meta AI here means the assistant on meta.ai and in the Meta AI apps, not the AI business assistant inside Ads Manager or Muse. Our page on Muse for Small Business compares all three.
What it costs: Meta's help page says "Meta AI is free to start. Usage limits may apply." Meta says businesses that want more use will be able to subscribe to Meta One. Its Meta One launch post (September 15, 2026) lists business plans from $14.99 a month, but doesn't say which ones add Meta AI ad analysis.
If you want the analysis in Google Sheets or Slides
Connect Google, then ask for the file. Meta's steps:
- Mobile app: Settings, then Connected apps, then Connect next to Google.
- Desktop app or meta.ai: Settings, then Connected apps, then Connect next to Google Drive and Gmail.
- Sign in to your Google account, review what Meta AI asks to access, and click Allow.
Meta says Meta AI can "turn that information into the decks, docs, and spreadsheets you need," and that linking Google Workspace, Gmail or Google Drive gives "more personalized responses." Meta also says it works with "your Gmail and work files on Google Drive." Its pages don't say whether the files it makes land in your Drive, or whether it can edit a Sheet you already have. Test it with a copy first.
Check every number against Ads Manager before a deck goes to your team. To undo the link, disconnect Gmail or Google Drive in Settings. To stop Meta AI reading your business assets, ask it in the chat to revoke that permission.
If you need to change campaigns
Use Ads Manager or Meta Business Suite. Meta's help page is plain: "To create, edit, or publish ads, use Ads Manager or Meta Business Suite." Meta AI reads and advises; you make the change.
If you want AI help with the change itself, Meta said on October 6, 2026 that it is beginning to test letting its AI business assistant in Ads Manager update targeting or change a budget by chat, with "previews, approvals, and controls" (see letting it change B2B campaigns). Meta's ads MCP server lets any MCP-compatible AI agent, such as Claude Code or ChatGPT (both named in Meta's setup guide), create and edit campaigns, ad sets and ads (see Meta's ads MCP server).
If you need Meta results next to LinkedIn, Google Ads and your CRM
Meta AI won't get you there. Its documented connections are your Facebook and Instagram accounts, your Meta ad campaigns and Google Workspace. Meta doesn't list LinkedIn, Google Ads, HubSpot or Salesforce. So it can tell you which Meta ads bring cheap leads, but not which ones turn into pipeline.
For a B2B team, that gap matters. The Meta ad with the lowest cost per lead is often not the one that brings deals. To see both, connect a general AI assistant to Meta and your other platforms (see connecting Claude or ChatGPT to your ad accounts), or compare Meta AI's findings with a CRM report by hand.
If you want the same Meta report every week
Meta AI can set up "recurring tasks and reminders," Meta says, with the example "Send me a report every Monday." That suits a weekly check for yourself, such as which ads slipped. Meta doesn't say it can send one to your team.
For a fixed report that lands in your team's inboxes, Ads Reporting can email one ad account's report on a schedule. Only people with permissions on the ad account can open it. Our page on emailing a weekly Meta ads report covers the steps and the limits.
If your Gmail and Drive hold client or customer data
Wait, and ask first. Four reasons:
- Retention and training aren't covered. Meta's help page says answers are based on "publicly available information and content you've directly provided or granted access to." Neither of Meta's business help pages says how long Meta keeps content it reads from Gmail or Docs, or whether that content trains its models. Digital Applied, which reviewed the launch on August 19, 2026, found the same gap. It advises agencies to hold client Workspace connections until Meta publishes those terms.
- Your chats can shape ads. Since December 16, 2025, Meta uses people's interactions with its generative AI features to personalize the content and ads they see, in most regions. Meta says it won't use sensitive topics, such as health or political views, for ads.
- Your Google admin may block it. Google Workspace admins can set any third-party app to Trusted, Limited, Specific Google data or Blocked, and can block every app they haven't configured. They can also restrict high-risk access to Gmail and Drive. Ask your admin before you try.
- It's tied to a person. Each teammate connects their own Meta AI profile and Google account. Meta's help pages describe no team or admin controls.
If you run ads for clients, get each client's sign-off before you connect their ad account.
What to avoid
Don't move budget on Meta AI's say-so. It is Meta's assistant judging Meta's own ads by Meta's numbers, and for B2B those numbers stop at the lead. Check each suggestion against qualified leads in your CRM first, and test one change at a time in Ads Manager.
Where Tofu fits
Tofu Ads Agent covers a different part of this job. It is an AI agent for paid programs on LinkedIn, Google and Meta that connects to HubSpot or Salesforce and the ad accounts. Its pipeline view follows accounts from first impression through opportunity to closed-won, and its analytics agent answers questions in plain language. You can use it from the web app, Slack or Microsoft Teams. Its bid, budget and creative recommendations stay proposals until you approve them. It isn't free: it costs a flat $2,500 per month, not a percentage of ad spend.
