Why is Meta Leads Center missing leads that Ads Manager says I got?

Usually because Ads Manager counts leads that never go to Leads Center, or you're looking at the wrong Page. Leads Center gets Instant Form and click-to-message leads for the Page your ads run from. Leads from your website's own form, or from ads on another Page, aren't added there. Meta also lets you download leads for only 90 days. A leftover filter or missing leads access can hide the rest. Check each ad's Page and conversion location, clear Leads Center's filters, then compare a download from Ads Manager.

Why does Ads Manager show more leads than Leads Center?

Ads Manager counts lead results across your whole ad account, while Leads Center shows one Page's leads. Work down this list:

Which leads show up in Leads Center?

Meta adds these automatically: Instant Form lead ads, click-to-message lead ads (with finished or unfinished flows), contacts from ads that click to Messenger or Instagram Direct, organic Messenger and Instagram Direct chats you mark as a lead in Inbox, appointment bookings and "detected outcomes." You can also upload leads from a CSV, XLS or XLSX file, or add them by hand. Every new lead starts at the Intake stage. A form fill on your own website isn't on Meta's list.

Who on my team can see leads in Leads Center?

Meta says "Existing admins will have access to Leads Center in Meta Business Suite," and that you need leads access to use it. To add a teammate without admin rights, open Leads Center, click the Gear icon, go to Permissions and click + Add permissions. If someone with full control of the business portfolio has customized leads access, new Page admins and CRMs get no leads access until someone with full control assigns them under Settings, Integrations, Leads access (Assign people or Assign CRMs). For agencies, Meta says only the business that owns the Page can give a partner leads access.

Do leads disappear from Leads Center after 90 days?

Meta doesn't say how long leads stay listed in Leads Center. It does say lead data can be downloaded for up to 90 days after the form is submitted, and "We don't make leads available for download after this period." Ads Manager keeps counting older leads, which is one reason its number can be higher than a download's. How do I check which leads Meta actually has?

Download them and count. Meta offers a CSV from Ads Manager, from the Instant forms page in Meta Business Suite and from Leads Center. A Leads Center download follows your current filter, and Meta says its "Fields are limited to date, name, email address, phone number, stage, source and owner," so answers to your custom questions don't come with it. Compare the row count with Ads Manager's Results for the same dates and forms.

Can Leads Center show more leads than Ads Manager?

Yes. Ads Manager's Results leave out organic leads (people who submit a form a friend shared with them) and test leads, but both appear in lead downloads. Meta says organic leads happen only when the form's sharing setting is open (the default is restricted), and download only from Meta Business Suite, not Ads Manager. Leads you upload or add by hand, and organic chats you mark as leads, add to Leads Center's count too.

Why does Leads Center ask me to accept terms first?

According to LeadSync, it's Meta's Lead Ads Terms for that Page; Meta's own help pages don't describe this prompt. LeadSync says Business Suite "shows a terms prompt inside Leads Center before it will let you view or download leads for a Page," and that the terms are "accepted per Page, by a Page admin." Can I use Leads Center on my phone?

Not in the Business Suite app, according to LeadSync: "The Meta Business Suite mobile app does not include the Leads Center." Meta's own pages reach Leads Center from Business Suite's menu or your Facebook Page's Business Dashboard, and don't say whether either works on a phone. Meta does say you can view leads in the Meta Ads Manager mobile app.

New leads show in Ads Manager but not in Leads Center yet. Is that a delay?

It might be. Meta doesn't publish how fast leads reach Leads Center, and LeadSync says it "can take hours to update." If a lead is still missing the next day, go back through the table above.
